Popular messaging app WhatsApp for Android, has been updated to version 2.12.367 in the Google Play Store. The update includes starred messages, which allow you to select certain ones that you are going to want to find later. Similar to a bookmark, all you need to do is tap and hold on a message to "star" it. You can find the messages you've starred by going to Chats tab > Menu > Starred Messages. This feature was first available on iOS, and has now made its way to Android.
With the update, links that you send or receive on WhatsApp will offer a rich preview. That means the links will include both a headline and a thumbnail image. Users will have the option of disabling the rich preview feature if they choose to do so. And for those using a Android device running Marshmallow, Android direct share allows you to quickly select a chat when sharing content from other apps.
WhatsApp is free for the first year, and is 99 cents a year thereafter. If you already have WhatsApp, you can manually update it by going to the Google Play Store, and clicking on the hamburger menu in the top left of the screen. Click on My apps and games, and then on WhatsApp. If you've yet to install the app on your Android phone, go to the Google Play Store
and install it now. The free download will include the new update.
